NOBODY KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR? (Part 3 of 5)
As watchmen and women, not only to the nation but also to the Church, we continue to re-echo the global alarm about an impending Rapture during the Jewish Feast of Trumpets on September 23 and 24, this year 2025. According to Prophet Joel, one marker of the Last Days would be God’s unusual outpouring of His Spirit “upon all flesh,” manifesting in the form of “wonders in the heavens and in the earth,” such wonders as the sun being ”tuned into darkness” (solar eclipse) and “the moon into blood” (lunar eclipse).
According to the prophet, the signs would not only be in the sky above but also on earth below, spiritual signs such as sons and daughters prophesying, old men dreaming dreams, and young men seeing visions, ahead of what the prophet describes fearfully as “the great and terrible day of the LORD” (Joel 2:28-32). About 2,800 years after, those signs are upon us – upon this generation. The fact is not merely the signs, unique as they are, but their convergence, as never before, with a pointer to the same season that recent prophecies have specifically named. Many agree that this unusual convergence of signs cannot be lightly ignored. They cannot all be dismissed as ‘coincidences.’
By the time you read this, there will have been the first heavenly sign: the blood moon (lunar eclipse) on Sunday, 7th September, 2025, to be followed two weeks later (7 + 7) by the darkness of the sun (a solar eclipse), around the time of the Feast of Trumpets and the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations. It is anticipated that the prophetic seven-year peace agreement between Israel and the Antichrist will be signed at that Meeting. Emmanuel Macron of France, with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia (what a pair), is heading this antichrist push, with over 150 nations already in the league. This is an “Emmanuel” of a different kind.
Many Bible watchers believe that the Man of Sin will be revealed at that Meeting, a few days from now. The Rapture, they also believe, will occur just before that Deal is signed. We are that generation “upon whom the ends of the world are come” (1 Corinthians 10:11).
Last week, we addressed the apparent scriptural bottleneck that many have had with accepting these words, namely, their persuasion that nobody knows the day or the hour. The present alert does not ‘set’ a “day” (as some mistakenly allege), but rather points attention to a feast season of “days.” To that extent, the present ‘rapture hype,’ as some prefer to call it, neither contradicts the verse that is usually wielded to shield this alarm, even if that verse means what they say. The ongoing call gives no specific “hour” within that period. The problem that some have is that the prophecy is too specific to be God. If the visions had come in complex symbols and codes, and if the “season” had been wider in scope, it might have been more ‘scriptural.’

There have been predictions in the past that did not come to pass, which does not mean that the Rapture will never come to pass. Suppose this September is the one ‘prediction’ that will come to pass? Some have asked, “Suppose it doesn’t happen?” but they ignore the other side of the coin, which is more fearful, “Suppose it comes to pass?” In the past, it was just one theological or pontifical voice making the claim. This time, the voices are in their thousands. So many cannot be wrong on this matter. By the mouth of two or three witnesses, every truth may be established (Matthew 18:16). What do we say when the witnesses are not just two or three but thousands, across regions, across ages, across denominations, across gender, as never before?
The actual worry of some of us is why God (if it is truly He) should overlook the mighty preachers of our day (including ourselves) and choose to reveal such an important matter to babes and mere shepherds in the field, while high priests and royal Herods are still grappling to make theological and academic sense of their scrolls, to agree on pre- or mid – or post-tribulation and the coming again of the Master (Matthew 21:16).
Others of us know and believe the Bible too much to believe the God of the Bible; they are persuaded that until every sinner has been properly preached to, according to their data collection, it is not time for Jesus to come. In this day of the internet, how do we know that every "nation" has not received a witness, some as long as thousands of years ago?
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches …” (Revelation 2:7). Amen.

7. 1 Thes. 5:4-5 Pray that the coming of the Lord will not overtake you unawares. Pray for grace to be prepared for the day of the rapture.
