PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24/7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Aug 8-14, 2021
THANKSGIVING: Bless the name of the Lord; thank and praise Him for yourself, family, the Church and Nigeria
REPENTANCE: Repent for all sins, failings and shortcomings of you and your family, the Church and Nigeria
FOCUS OF THE PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK:
STILL on the release of ALL abducted students and other believers being held against their will anywhere in the hands of bandits, herdsmen, unknown gunmen, Boko Haram, any other criminals or Jihadists. How do we pray for anything else when over 100 children have been in the hands of criminal abductors for over a month and only a few of these have been released? The situation is serious enough to STOP ALL ELSE and tackle this situation in prayer so it ends in testimony not tragedy.
PRAYERS:
- Judges 5:20 2 “They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera”
Father, PLEASE break out against the kidnappers, killer herdsmen, Boko Haram and ISWAP in Nigeria.
- Like Joshua commanded the sun, decree that the stars of heaven, the trees, waters and all creation wage war against all abductors of students and enemies of the gospel till they repent or sink.
- Isaiah 26.11 “Let them see Your zeal for Your people and be ashamed; yes, Let the fire reserved for Your enemies consume them” Lord, though Your children have sinned, erred and strayed, thank You as You show mercy, forgive, and demonstrate Your love for Your children. Show Your enemies that Your children are not helpless orphans to be oppressed and trampled upon. Be zealous and jealous for Your own, Lord
- Lord, let the fire reserved for Your enemies consume them. What better time could there be for this fire reserved for Your enemies than when they have touched innocent children who are the apple of Your eyes? Please, Lord, let this fire fall.
- 30.23-24 “Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goes forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked. The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he has done it, and until He has performed the intents of his heart” God knows precisely where the kidnappers and all the enemies of the Church and barriers to Nigeria’s progress are. Pray that the whirlwind of the Lord will locate the adversaries and liberate ALL the abducted children, including Leah Sharibu. A day with God is like a thousand years. God can correct in one day what seemed to have gone wrong over several years.
- Isaiah 49:25 “But thus says the LORD, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with thee, and I will save thy children” God’s word cannot fail. Stand on this word and contend for ALL abducted students. O God save the children
- Zechariah 1: 20-21 “And the LORD showed me four carpenters. Then said I, What come these to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it”
Pray for God to release His Heavenly carpenters to cut down every "horn" that is scattering Nigeria, oppressing the Church and seeking to keep Christians from raising their heads.
- Plead for God’s mercy on the Church, on the children, and their parents. Pray in any other manner you know for the release of ALL abducted students including Leah Sharibu, other Christians and innocent Nigerians. Pray for the birthing of a new Nigeria in that is in the precise shape of God’s will and counsel
