MAIN FOCUS OF THE PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK: PA ELTON PROPHECY ON CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA:
''Nigeria and Nigerians will be known all over the world for corruption. Your name, Nigeria, will stink of corruption; but after a while, a new phase will come – a phase of righteousness. People from the nations of the earth will hold to a Nigerian and say ‘We want to follow you to your nation to go and learn righteousness’!''.
PRAYER POINTS:
- Thank God that Nigeria is not doomed to be corrupt forever. Thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ by which we have redemption, hope and assurance of transformation
- Ask for God’s forgiveness and repent of every way in which you and believers in Nigeria have participated, aided or abetted corruption in Nigeria e.g. driving without appropriate papers and bribing the Police; collective contributions to pay examiners to let students undertake malpractices; agreeing kickbacks to get contracts etc. Truly REPENT – i.e. determine never to do such again
- Zech 4:7 “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain” Address the great evil mountain of corruption that has made Nigeria’s name stink worldwide; decree that it become a plain; that it be totally leveled
- Zech 4:7 “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit…” Pray that the Holy Spirit come and help us in this epic battle against corruption in Nigeria; for all our intellect and energy alone cannot break through
- Mat_18:18 “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Bind and cast out of Nigeria every evil spirit that promotes corruption
- Isa_45:8“…let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.” Command the skies, the soil, and all creation in Nigeria to promote righteousness and suffocate corruption
- Isa 62:4-5 “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delights in thee, and thy land shall be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee…” Corruption is rape. Stealing Nigeria’s resources, carting it abroad, and leaving Nigeria languishing is rape. When a person marries a land, he/she loves it passionately and no longer rapes. Pray that God will fill Nigerians with love for the land, cause the land to be married by her sons and daughters who will “husband” not rape Nigeria
- Pro 24:3“Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Ask God to give Nigerian leaders or raise new leaders who by wisdom, understanding and knowledge, establish policies, structures and institutions that will minimize corruption
- Pray for God Who watches over His word to perform it, Who confirms the word of His servants (Isaiah 44.26), to have mercy and accelerate the fulfillment of the second part of Pa Elton’s prophecy, even as the first has been accurately fulfilled
