THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP: Psm 68:4 “Sing unto God, sing praises to His name: extol Him that rideth upon the heavens by His name JAH, and rejoice before Him” It is faith and confidence in God to rejoice and praise God even when things have not taken the desired form in our lives and families; in the Church; or in our nation Nigeria. God is faithful and NEVER will fail. Let is lavishly sing His praise. God’s people shall yet be victorious,
REPENTANCE: Let us truly repent and ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, and the sins of your family, the Church and Nigeria, and for the contributions of Christians to the woes that believers and Nigeria are now facing by ignoring prophetic warnings. Pray for God’s grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14)
FOCUS: Let God Arise (Psm 68.1)
PRAYER POINTS :
- Psm 68.1“let them also that hate Him flee before Him” Many are they, in Nigeria and very many outside, that hate the Lord, and devise wicked schemes against the name of the Lord and against God’s people. Call on the Lord to arise and perplex, confound and crumble them
- Psm 68:5-6“A Father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in His holy habitation...He brings out those who are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land” The chains and captivity of the oppressed in Nigeria is so bad that even when they choose who they desire to lead them, the wicked oppressors override their decision and seek to impose their will. Call on the Lord. Let God arise as Father of the fatherless and a judge of the widows and affirm their righteous cause.
- Psm 68:7-8“O God, when Thou went forth before Thy people, when Thou didst march through the wilderness; The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God” Call on the Lord to arise, to go “forth before Thy people again” to “march through the wilderness” of Nigeria. Let Nigeria shake at the presence of God. Let all injustice and oppression and corruption shake and scatter at the presence of God; let justice and God’s perfect will be established regarding the 2023 Presidential elections and the leadership of Nigeria
- Psm 68.10“Thou, O God, hast prepared of Thy goodness for the poor” The evil, devious and wicked men have prepared of their vain imaginations for the poor. Call on God to arise, override and pour out of His goodness for the poor of Nigeria. Let God and His goodness be their lot, not the proud and wicked schemes of men. Let God Who in mighty mercy has delivered His Children in Nigeria even in their utter ignorance and simplistic support of dangerous candidates, do it again
- Psm 68:21“But God shall wound the head of His enemies, and the hairy scalp of such as goes on still in his trespasses” Call on God to arise and “wound the head of His enemies” and such as insist that their devious manipulations and electoral frauds must hold sway against God’s will and the lawfully expressed wishes of Nigerians
- Psm 68:30“Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war” Satanic sieges continue against God’s people in the Northern parts of Nigeria; with satanic ambitions to spread beyond. Call on God to arise and scatter all who delight in [Jihadist] war; and to do it in His sovereign will and wisdom in a manner “till every one submit himself with pieces of silver” unto God Almighty and a mighty revival breaks forth in the land.
- Pray other prayers for current national issues as you have observed or are burdened to pray.
- SPECIAL PRAYERS: Pro_29:2“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” (a) God delivered Israel from Pharaoh about this time of year; same for Esther/Mordecai and the Jews; same for Peter at Easter (Acts 12). Pray that will do it again in Nigeria (b) That through the courts or by any means God chooses in His sovereignty, God will reverse and restore every stolen political mandate and establish the true choice of Nigerians (c) Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Please raise political leaders that will set them free. (d) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (e.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
