PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, June 11 - 17, 2023
THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP: Psm 68:4 “Sing unto God, sing praises to His name: extol Him that rides upon the heavens by His name JAH, and rejoice before Him” God is working out His purposes in Nigeria, in ways we cannot see or imagine. Joseph must have been fasting and praying to be released to return to his father. Unknown to him, he would send for his father with a Chariot to come and see “all my glory in Egypt” We trust God for a dream-like turnaround in the polity; to have God’s choice and the people’s mandate restored. God is faithful and NEVER will fail. Let’s still lavishly praise the Lord and declare His glory. We shall yet be victorious, for “The LORD of hosts is with us”
REPENTANCE: Let us truly repent and ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, and the sins of your family, the Church and Nigeria, and for the contributions of Christians to the woes that believers and Nigeria are now facing by ignoring prophetic warnings. Pray for God’s grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14)
FOCUS: Let God Arise (Psalm 68)
PRAYER POINTS :
Psm 68:1 “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him” The snake has bared its fangs. No more doubt that some are enemies of the Lord and the gospel. Recent pronouncements have made it crystal clear and that even unfolding political activities are part of the enmity. Call on the Lord to arise and let His enemies in Nigeria and their evil allies around the world be scattered.
Psm 68:2 “As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God” O Lord our God, in Your mercy, come down by fire; let Your presence be mighty in the courts and tribunals; in all quarters of decision making; in the dens of rebellion and of evil schemes against the Church and the nation….that them be driven away, let them melt as wax, let them perish
Psa 68:5,10 “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in His holy habitation…. Thou, O God, hast prepared of Thy goodness for the poor” Left to the human Judges, bribes and tribes and vibes from the corridors of power will determine many things. Call on the “father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows” to impose the will and verdict of heaven; to prepare of His goodness for the IDPs, for the illegal captives like Leah Sharibu, the people of Southern Kaduna and many others among God’s people, especially in Northern Nigeria
Psa 68:6 “…He brings out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land” For so long it is the rebellious that have ridden on chariots in Nigeria. Prophesy and decree a change in this error, that the chains on God’s people and the nation be broken; and the rebellious take their rightful place: “in a dry land”
Psa 68:7-8 “O God, when Thou went forth before Thy people….The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel” Praise the Almighty; then call upon Him to go before His people in Nigeria; let Nigeria shake and let everything God has not planted be shaken out; let corruption also shake to its foundations and let the new Nigeria where nations will come to learn righteousness spring forth
Psm 68:3 “But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice….Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby Thou didst confirm Thine inheritance, when it was weary” Ah, Lord, let the righteous be glad in Nigeria…do something to make the righteous “exceedingly rejoice”. For all their shame, let the, have double. Merciful God, many are weary among Your children and wondering if God has forsaken them; and the evil ones are finding much cause to say “who and where is your God”. In mercy, “confirm Thine inheritance” in Nigeria. Though we are far from perfect, show the world that we are not fatherless orphans nonetheless, and that our God is all-wise, Almighty. As You did in Egypt and in Assyria that caused some strangers to defect and join Israel, Lord in mercy, arise….Do something that will cause strangers to seek You, Your children to boast even greater in You, and will unleash a rain of revival

- OTHER SPECIAL PRAYERS: Pro_29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” (a) Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others that were abducted and are still in the hands of their captors. Please raise political leaders that will set them free. (b) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
