PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 24x7 PRAYER CHAIN FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST & NIGERIA, Jan 1-7, 2023
THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP: Psa_34:3 “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together” HALLELUJAH!!! The raging and desperate devices of the devil who prowled about to steal kill and destroy all failed. What an able and loving God we have: He has kept us another whole year…as a loving Shepherd, leading us in the way of life and peace. The coming of Jesus Christ which the world celebrates as Christmas has paved way for all these mercies and blessings. Give God thanks, for sending Jesus Christ and paving way for us to be partakers of the blessings of Abraham. Also praise God for all He has done for you, your family, the Church and Nigeria through 2022….& for yet greater things He is set to do in 2023.
REPENTANCE: Ask God for mercy and forgiveness for all of your sins, your family’s, the Church and Nigeria; pray for grace to turn and live in obedience; that our land may be healed (2 Chron. 7.14).

PRAYER POINTS
- DARKNESS VANQUISHED: Psa_30:5“For his anger endures but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” The morning is when light subdues and vanquishes darkness. Pray that the manifestation of the Great Light we have seen shall cause darkness to be subdued and vanquished throughout Nigeria
- END OF KILLINGS: Mar_8:24“And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking” Europeans saw Africans as animals and used them as slaves for centuries. Politicians in Nigeria are using fellow humans as tools to power and wealth. Limited light usually causes wrong worldview, faulty perspectives, and dangerous notions of fellow human beings, leading to avoidable conflict and crime. Pray that the ritual, political and Jihadist killings will come to an end by reason of the Great Light
- NO MORE WEEPING; GREAT JOY: Psa_30:5“weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” The darkness that prevailed in Nigeria hitherto brought so much weeping via corruption, idolatry, ritual killings, kidnapping, abductions etc. Pray that by reason of the Great Light, great joy will replace those tears.
- ACCURATE CHOICES: 1Sa 16:7“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature;…for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart” and Isa_11:3 “…He shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears” By reason of dim light and slow understanding, Nigerians have repeatedly made wrong political choices and anointed inappropriate leaders. Pray that by reason of the Great Light, we shall get it right at last in 2023.
- REVELATIONS & EXPOSURES: 1Co_3:13“Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is” Pray that dark and evil deeds in the country’s political leadership and in the Church that are being masked by media propaganda, pretences etc will be exposed and eliminated by reason of the Great Light of this new dawn
- GOOD LEADERSHIP: Mat_15:14“…they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch” Nigeria has had serial and prolonged plague of blind leaders leading blind followers. Isa 9:2“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light” Pray that the Great Light shall lead to sound and effective national leadership in 2023
- SPEED & LASTING IMPACT: Joh_5:20“For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that Himself does: and He will show Him greater works than these, that ye may marvel” The work of just 3 years done with great light has left the world marvelling and impacted positively to date and for eternity. Today, Jesus Christ has made same grace available to us: Joh_15:15“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you” Pray that by reason of the Great Light, believers in Nigeria shall make positive, irreversible impact on the polity, economy, and society at large.
- LET THERE BE LIGHT: Prophesy that gloom shall no longer remain upon Nigeria; let there be light; let darkness and the shadow of death (breakup, war etc) be swallowed up by the Great Light of God in Christ
- Pray other prayers for current national issues as you have observed or are burdened to pray. Pray also for the ongoing political transition process that there be no hijack, and the next leader shall be of God.
- SPECIAL PRAYER: (a) Lord have mercy on Leah Sharibu and all others abducted and still in the hands of their captors. Stretch forth Your hand and set free. (b) Defend Your children from Jihad in S/Kaduna, Jos and other Christian territories (c.) Have mercy on IDPs and enable them return to their homes.
